Mihaela Robila, Ph.D., CFLE is Professor of Human Development and Family Studies at Queens College of the City University of New York. Her scholarship is focused on family functioning and family policies in different countries. Besides writing numerous peer-reviewed articles in scholarly journals, she also edited the 'Handbook of Family Policies Across the Globe' (2014, Springer), wrote a book on 'Eastern European Immigrant Families' (2010; Routledge), and edited a book on 'Families in Eastern Europe' (2004; Elsevier). Her work has been supported by funding from Fulbright Program, American Councils for International Education - U.S. Department of State, Spencer Foundation, Fahs Beck Fund for Research, Jacobs Foundation, among others. She is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association Divisions 52 - International Psychology, 43 - Society for Couple and Family Psychology, and 37-  Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice. She was awarded the Carolyn Attneave Diversity Award by the APA Division 43 - Society for Family Psychology. Dr. Robila has been  invited and participated to several United Nations (U.N.) Expert Group Meetings on families and family policies, and is the National Council on Family Relations representative at the U.N.


Alan C. Taylor, Ph.D., CFLE is an Associate Professor of Human Development and Family Sciences at East Carolina University. His scholarship is focused in three areas: family life education pedagogy, family theory and intergenerational relations - in particular, grandparent-grandchild relationships.  Besides writing numerous peer-reviewed articles in scholarly journals and book chapters on family life education, family theory and intergenerational relationships, he also co-edited the book entitled 'Family Life Education with Diverse Populations' (2012, Sage) with Dr. Sharon Ballard.
