Management of Open Globe Injuries

This book uses a unique case-based approach to review the intra-operative and peri-operative management of patients with severe ocular trauma and open globe injuries.  The case- based structure of this text allows readers to easily reference the type of injury they are treating in order to assist with management of their patients and to recognize indications to involve other ophthalmic and surgical specialties in the management of patients with open globe injuries.

Management of Open Globe Injuries will be an indispensable resource for ophthalmologists who are called upon to care for patients who have suffered open globe trauma.

Dr Seanna Grob was the Director of the Eye Trauma Service at Massachusetts Eye and Ear/Harvard Medical School where she coordinated eye trauma coverage at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Brigham and Women's Hospital. After earning her medical degree from University of California, San Diego School of Medicine, Dr. Grob completed an Ophthalmology residency and was chief resident at Harvard Medical School. As chief resident, she served as a mentor, teacher, and peer resource to HMS Ophthalmology's 24 residents. Her interests include ocular and periocular trauma and ophthalmic plastic reconstructive surgery.  Throughout medical training, Dr. Grob has received a number of awards including the 2016 American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Foundation Resident Excellence Award. A prolific scholar, she has published many peer-reviewed articles and book chapters.
