This book presents the select proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Innovative Product Design and Intelligent Manufacturing System (IPDIMS 2022). It covers the latest trends in the areas of design and manufacturing. The main topics covered include Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, advanced robotics, and CAD/CAM/CIM. The contents of this book are useful for researchers and professionals working in the disciplines of mechatronics, mechanical, manufacturing, production, and industrial engineering.


B B V L Deepak is currently working at the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, in the Department of Industrial Design. He received his Master's and Ph.D. degrees from the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, in 2010 and 2015, respectively. He has 11 years of research and teaching experience in manufacturing and product design fields. He produced 3 Ph.D. theses and is supervising 4 Ph.D. scholars. He published more than 100 papers in various peer-reviewed journals and conferences along with 1 patent. He is also currently handling two sponsored research projects in the field of robotics. He received several national and international awards such as Ganesh Mishra Memorial Award-2019, IEI Young Engineer Award-2018, and Early Career Research Award-2017. 

M V A Raju Bahubalendruni, currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical engineering at NIT Puducherry, India, has completed his Master's in Machine Design at Andhra University College of Engineering and joined at HCL technologies, Bangalore. He worked on several aircraft programs like c27J, Bombardier, Honda Jet, and Bell-407. He completed his Ph.D. degree from the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela.  He is currently Active Researcher in the manufacturing and automation domain (assembly, disassembly, industrial robotics, human-robot collaboration, additive manufacturing, topology optimization, advanced cellular structures, augmented reality/virtual reality).  He is one of the potential research professionals with more than 11 years of total academic, industrial, and R&D experience. He has received multiple research grants from Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology (DST). He has published close to 80 articles in reputed national and international journals and well cited. He has received many best paper awards and best reviewer awards by several publishers. He has been awarded with Gold Medal 'Brundaban Sahu Memorial Award' by Institute of Engineers India (IEI-Odisha) in 2016 for his research contribution and received National level (Indian) Young Engineer award-2017 in the mechanical stream by IEI.

Dayal R. Parhi is working in NIT, Rourkela, as Professor (HAG). He is currently heading the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He has received his Ph.D. in Mobile Robotics field from Cardiff School of Engineering, UK. He has 26 years of research and teaching experience in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence fields. He has guided more than 20 Ph.D. theses and published more than 300 papers in various journals and conferences along with 3 patents. He has also completed and is currently handling several sponsored research projects in the field of Robotics.

Bibhuti Bhusan Biswal is currently acting as Director of the National Institute of Technology, Meghalaya. He is also Professor (HAG) in the Department of Industrial Design of NIT, Rourkela. He has 33 years of research and teaching experience in FMS, CAD/CAM, and Robotics fields. He has guided more than 15 Ph.D. theses and published more than 200 papers in various journals and conferences along with 3 patents/copyrights. He has international collaboration with Loughborough University and Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. He has also completed and is currently handling several sponsored research projects in his research field.
